Welcome to Xibalba, the cyberspatial version of the heavily networked Edinburgh flat known as Emmental.  So why isn't the website named Emmental, you ask?  Answer: because all our computers have Mayan pantheon names, and the Mayan underworld is called Xibalba.

When John set it up in 1997 and made me webmaster, the idea was that we'd all come up with pages of our own to put here.  Even he never managed that, so this top level is a bit pointless and vestigial, retained only because I don't want to change all my URLs.  Still, while you're here, feel free to visit our kitchen for a cuppa – JBR
